Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself?
My name is Prophie Luciano I’m a recording artist, music producer, songwriter and music executive from Pittsburgh, PA. I’m here to share my new music with my fans and supporters, they’ve been down with me since day one.
What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
I started getting into music when I was real young, I was like 3 years old singing at church. I think what really got me started was when my father purchased me my first beat machine when I was 12. It was all over once that happened I went from making my own beats at home to making music for other local artists.
Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?
My newest single is entitled “Slidin” and it’s intended to be a one of those kick back chill, cruising type of songs. I just wanted to drop a new banger for the Spring and for my fans who’ve been waiting on new music so it all just came together. I also did a few recent collaborations, I did a song with Dehkewlz called “Ten Toes” that took off and we got some great exposure of that song, “Steel City Stand Up!” I have another song out with my bro Trappin Hardo, we did a track called “Coulda Bought a Key” it’s another fire joint about to hit the streets.
What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?
What makes my music unique is I don’t try to sound or be like somebody else. I give 110% in everything I do. Music isn’t a hobby to me it’s my way of life. I can try to describe my music as a cross between modern urban hip-hop meets, old school trap/ gansta rap with a pop mass appeal. Honesty, I feel like my music style is eclectic it’s really hard to put it in a bottle. I have so many musical styles you’ll never know which way I’m coming.
Do you play any instruments? And why do you love it?
I tried different instruments but music production was where my heart was. I played around as a DJ for a bit but I always go back to performing, songwriting and beat making.
Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
Growing up I was a big fan of; Jay Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and J. Cole just to name a few. I think I would make some good music with Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T, T.I. Migos there’s a bunch of artist out there I’d be down to make music with. I have tracks in mind for so many other artist.
Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?
I have so many proud moments in my career. I’m just grateful to have so much support in this business. My friends and family all my fans they’re all in my corner. Every time I release music that’s well received by my fans, I’m proud.
How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?
I balance my personal life and my music career by keeping them separate, When I’m home with my family, it’s just us and we do normal regular family things. When I’m out in public I’m on hustle mode, everything is about my business and my brand. I’m Chezeq or Daddy at home, when I’m out in the street or on stage I’ll full blown Prophie Luciano. The life workplace balance is essential because come tour time, I’m always on the go.
What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
The best advice I’d give an aspiring musician is to stay at it and don’t let someone else write your story, keep pushing and don’t let nothing stop you.
